The Challenge
What was standing in the way
Viewer preference had rapidly moved to mobile-first, bite-sized entertainment, and Hungama saw a window to launch a differentiated short-form (micro-drama) streaming service. Short-form video platforms are unforgiving: user sessions run for minutes, catalogues span thousands of clips, and discovery is the core product. Consequently, real personalization, flexible monetization, and multi-platform reach all had to be in the initial release rather than deferred to later phases. Building that foundation from scratch using traditional development workflows would have pushed the product launch well past the market window.
What DCT Built
The solution in production
DCT brought its short-form streaming product foundation, customized it to Hungama’s specific requirements, and ran the entire delivery on Claude Code. Claude Code operated as the primary development environment with MCP connectors linked directly to Atlassian (Jira + Confluence) for live acceptance criteria and Figma for token-level design accuracy.
The platform delivered a complete short-form streaming ecosystem covering iOS and Android apps, a mobile-parity web client, CMS services, and an AI personalization service. Claude Code assisted across the entire lifecycle-handling requirements intake, UI implementation, edge-case test generation, pre-human diff code reviews, and synthetic test-data creation. This AI-assisted environment allowed a small engineering team to maintain high feature velocity across four codebases simultaneously
AI Suite Applied
The agents behind the deployment
Claude Code (Claude Opus & Claude Sonnet)
AI-assisted development environment used for core software engineering, UI implementation, code reviews, and feature velocity maintenance across multiple codebases.
Atlassian MCP Connector (Jira + Confluence)
Direct workflow integration connecting development directly to live acceptance criteria and requirement specifications rather than static tickets.
Figma MCP Connector
Design-to-code alignment agent ensuring shipped UI components matched the target design system at the exact token level.

Customer Endorsement
“We needed to be in market while the shift to short-form was still an opening, not a crowded category. DCT's team, working with Claude, delivered a personalised platform across mobile and web in a timeframe that would normally have been a single-platform build - and we passed 50,000 registered subscribers in the first quarter.”
